TIPS FOR INTERNET SPEED TEST
A speed test is a popular method for determining the speed of your internet service.
The time it takes to download (and upload) a certain amount of data over your internet connection is measured between your device and a test server. As a result, the results would only show the available (unused) bandwidth at the time of testing, not the portion of capacity used by other devices or applications.
Because of the way internet communication (TCP/IP protocol) works, packet headers consume a small portion of your bandwidth, so actual speed test results will be 5-10% lower than your actual package speed.
Follow these steps for an accurate speed test result:
1) Use a LAN (also known as ethernet) cable to connect your device (laptop/desktop) to your internet router. This is done to eliminate any WiFi interference that may exist between your internal WiFi, other devices, or your neighbors' WiFi.
2) Close any additional applications that may be using your internet connection, such as GDrive, Dropbox, Youtube, Spotify, Netflix, and so on.
3) Close any unused applications because the Speedtest web-based application requires full CPU access.
4) Disconnect all other internet-connected devices. Because only unused available bandwidth can be tested, these devices include, but are not limited to, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, media players, desktops, laptops, and so on.

6) Click START to begin the test and wait for it to complete.
